This all-day trip is a blend of alpine scenery and ancient Inca customs.

After reaching this scenic alpine lake at an altitude of 4200 meters, you will learn about its religious significance in Inca mythology.

 

We will pick you up at the hotel between 4.20am and 4.45am and we will go by private transport along the gorgeous valley of the Apurimac River to the mountain village of Mollepata. Here we have a snack and will go to the starting point of our "trek". After 1 hour, we arrive in Soraypampa at the 3,900 masl . We will continue our trip to the destination of our trip to the Humantay Lagoon at 4200 masl, which will take us about 1 hour. Its beautiful turquoise water comes from the Humantay Glacier from Humantay Mountain (5450 m).

 

This place is one of the most stunning locations in the Cusco region.

 

This trek is also part of the several-day Salkantay Trek, which is considered sacred in Inca mythology. In this part of the trek it is also possible to rent a horse to the the lagoon.

 

We return to the village of Mollepata, where we have lunch and go back to Cusco, where we will arrive at about 18:30.
